Ever wondered what the judges are looking for!!

Every Show not only needs Judges …… but also Stewards.

As a steward you would be required to keep track of the competitors in each class, make notes as required by the Judges on competitor performance, record final placings and assist with awarding the Rosettes.

Notes:   1.

Classes 18 & 20:           Each competitor will enter the ring individually.
             Phase 1:          Turnout of horse/pony and rider                           50 marks
             Phase 2:          Freestyle show not exceeding 2 minutes              50 marks

 

Movements to be included in freestyle show are:- halt, walk on a long rein, original three loop serpentine at trot, canter on both reins and an extended canter across the diagonal.  Lead rein competitors are not required to perform any movements in canter.

2.

Classes 18, 19, 21 to 28 are to be ridden in a snaffle bridle with either a drop, cavesson or flash noseband (dressage rules apply).  Spurs and martingales are not permitted.

3.

Lead rein classes are to be ridden in a snaffle bridle with the lead rein attached to the noseband only.  Competitors entering lead rein classes are ineligible to enter classes off the lead and vice versa with the exception of the Beginners classes.

4.

Classes 26 to 28 to be judged primarily on suitability and manners for all riding club activities.  Includes small fence.  Class 27 fence not to exceed 61cm (2’0”).

5.

Novice: Combination not to have been placed 1st to 4th in the open Riding Club Pony class at R&DRC previous to the current season or the end of season novice championship.

6.

Classes 21 & 26 are non qualifiers.  All qualifiers for 12 years & under equitation will be taken from class 22 unless 10 years & under qualifiers are available.
